I just made A TON of hair bows.
As in… it will be mandatory that my daughter wear a different bow every day of her life until she’s about 21 years old. That many hair bows.
… She’s going to hate bows. BUT, until she discovers that she doesn’t like them anymore, there will be one permanently fixed to her head.
So if you want to join my club… the, “There’s An 89% Chance That Once My Daughter Can Decide For Herself That She Doesn’t Like Hair Bows She’ll Never Wear Another One Again For The Rest Of Her Life Just To Spite Her Mother” club, then read on!
We’ll come up with a better club name later.
Here is how I made them:
First I cut my fabric into a rectangle measuring 5″ x 3.5″ (please excuse the press marks, I got a little ahead of myself).
I folded it (hot dog style) so the ends met in the middle and ironed it.
Then I brought the other two ends to the middle, and held them in place.
Flip over your piece of fabric, (still holding the ends together) and bunch up the middle until you like the way your bow looks. Then, sew the middle in place so it stays scrunched up.
Once your bow is securely sewed, you can take any pieces of scrap fabric, or elastic (I used elastic for this one) and cut it to the desired length and width. I won’t give you dimensions here because it’s all about how you want your finished bow to look! If you like a wider center, then by all means cut that piece of fabric as wide as your little heart desires! Just make sure its long enough to go around the center of the bow.
Place a dab of hot glue on the back to secure your elastic.
Once the glue is dried, you have yourself a fancy new bow!
These are super fast, and super easy to make. Probably why baby girl now has 147,691 of them. Here are a few of my personal favorites:
Apparently I like blue?
Luckily for me, these are quick and easy so I can go make one thousand pink ones too.
I can’t wait to have a little model for these bows!
Only a little over 7 weeks left…
Holy crap… I have so much to do.
Beer me strength.
