Spicy Fish Tacos with a Mango Cabbage Slaw and Lime Crema

These fish tacos are insanely awesome. But I am officially super confused. So, almost one year ago, Mr. T finally went to the allergist to figure out the real culprits behind his food allergies. You know, before I accidentally tried to kill him again. Anyway, we found out that he was insanely allergic to shell-fish but not allergic AT ALL to regular fish. Hooray! To celebrate, he went to California on a business trip and ate some salmon sashimi like it was going out of style.

Shrimp Broccoli Alfredo

YO PEEPS! It has been SO long since the last time I posted and I am SO sorry. I hope that you missed me, because I totally missed you. I caught this crazy virus that took me out for almost three weeks. It was like half mono, half pneumonia, half bubonic plague. Granted I’m not super great at math, but it was miserable. Like, seriously. All of my neighbors thought I was dead. I didn’t post on social media, or here on the blog, and my car didn’t move. It’s kind of good to know

Honey Walnut Shrimp

Happy Monday, peeps! It’s a good day to whip out a nice Chinese recipe. I feel like the Honey Walnut Shrimp is a very westernized “Chinese” dish. But, I’m not going to complain for one second about it, because, seriously. Have you ever had it?! It’s one of my favorites! And it’s SOOOO much better when it’s coming out of your kitchen instead of Panda Express’. The shrimp is dipped in a batter and lightly fried to give it a perfect crunchy exterior while keeping a plump interi

Shrimp Pasta with Tomato Cream Sauce

There will be literal face stuffing in this blog post. Stay tuned. It shouldn’t surprise you though because this pasta is AMAZING. I mean, look at it! Pastas with creamy tomato sauce totally get me. Then you go ahead and add shrimp and it’s like my nirvana. There is a little bit of crushed red pepper and paprika for a nice smoky kick, as well. FYI, the smell of fresh garlic and onions sautéing has to be one of my favorite kitchen smells. It’s right up there with freshly baked

Copycat Bajio Shrimp Tacos

I worked at Bajio the summer after I graduated from high school and I very quickly fell in love with their shrimp tacos. That particular restaurant has since closed, and the closest one is about 30 minutes away, so whenever I need my Bajio fix it’s WAYYY more convenient to make it at home nowadays. I’ve already pretty much mastered their Chicken Green Chile Quesadilla, and we’ve got these shrimp tacos pretty dang close, all I need to do now is discover the secret to their swe

Grilled Fish Tacos

This is a good recipe to have before Taco Tuesday rolls around this week. It’s also an excellent one to have after I posted that pico de gallo recipe last week. I told you that you were going to want to put it on all the things. These fish tacos are no exception. I want to grill all the things. Put pico on all the things. Eat all the things. And I did just that with these babies. I’ve probably told you before of my past disdain for tacos. I’ve never been a fan of the taco sea

Shrimp Enchiladas

Oh, shell fish how I love you. These enchiladas are amazing. They are packed with veggie goodness and exploding with cheese. What else can you possibly ask for in life? Oh. Cilantro. You can ask for cilantro. Well guess what, buddy. It has that, too. A whole handful up there, see it? There’s only a little bit actually inside of it, but you know. Whatever. Throw it on top like I did and go to town. To continue my story from last week… I believe I left it around the point where

Asian Salmon

So have you guys ever heard of a life proof case? Ya know… the cases that are supposed to protect your iPhone from all of the disasters that may befall it? Like, how it can survive a devastating fall? Or withstand crushing pressure from underwater depths? Or even defy an electric shock? Well…. Guess what they can’t survive? One month with a toddler. Yeah. Baby Girl owned the crap out of my impenetrable iPhone case. Now I guess I’ll go buy a pretty one instead. ANYWAY… this sa

Maple BBQ Glazed Salmon

This was some of the best salmon EVAH. It only takes a handful of ingredients, and fifteen minutes of your time to get to this point. Staring down the barrel of some of the most delicious salmon you’ve ever tasted, that is. This is a recipe from Averie Cooks and I’m here to tell you that her recipes have NEVER disappointed. Not once. If you’ve never been to her site you NEED to run as fast as you can and take a look. I don’t really know what the internet equivalent is of runn

Shrimp Quesadillas

I have an inexplicable love affair with seafood. Probably my favorite thing about it is that you get so much flavor, without adding a ton of calories.Probably my least favorite thing about it is that sometimes it tries to murder my husband. He developed an allergy to seafood a couple of months after we got married, and before we narrowed down the culprit to seafood, he had eaten it a couple of times with the reactions getting progressively worse and worse. The poor guy is tot

Clam Spaghetti

This. Is. The. Stuff. This pasta makes for an insanely delicious dinner. Unlike other pastas, it doesn’t call for gallons of sauce to provide flavor. Which is good news for all of us because that means we get to eat delicious pasta without packing on the pounds. It also comes together in 30 minutes or less, and is pretty to boot. One of my favorite parts about this recipe though is that it is even better the next day as leftovers. The extra day provides time for the flavors t

North African Inspired Salmon Salad

I have totally been to Northern Africa before, and I don’t remember eating anything this good the entire time I was there. Of course, I was only 14 years old and probably could have sustained my life solely on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches at the time. My taste buds hadn’t matured quite yet. For my 22 year old taste buds though, PB&J’s just aren’t cutting it anymore. So now I have to eat delicious things like this salad. And oh gosh. It is SO good. The recipe doesn’t mak

Shrimp and Avocado Salad with Spiced Almonds and White Balsamic Vinaigrette

This might be one of my new favorite salads. And when I say might be… I mean it definitely is. In fact, I am craving it as I write this and the chances that I will still be craving it while you are reading are embarrassingly high. It has recently become my life’s mission to find and make new delicious salads, and oh boy did I hit the jack-pot with this beauty. This vinaigrette is so good and versatile, I’ll be finding other salads to use it on ASAP. Stay tuned, friends. Oh an

Summer Rolls

Oh, hello little shrimps. I was talking to the shrimps peeking out of my spring rolls, not you, friends. This is awkward. Like when you see someone waving at you, so you wave back just in time to figure out that they were actually waving to someone directly behind you. There is no coming back from that one. Like, I usually just pretend that I was throwing my hand up to shield my eyes from the sun, or that my forehead was super itchy. I will warn you that neither of those stra

Grilled Salmon

This one’s for you Aunt Alice! It’s easy, it’s fast, it’s delicious. The best kinds of dinners are easy fast and delicious. I, unfortunately, do not own a grill. So I will give you the instructions for the grill, and for the oven. If you have the option to use a grill, PLEASE do so. It imparts a flavor that cannot be mimicked in an oven. Don’t get me wrong… it’s still super good from the oven, but ya’ll just need to trust me. Grilled Salmon 2016-01-23 16:27:21 This grilled sa

Fish Tacos

I have been preparing your subconscious for this recipe for a while now, and I’m a little bit excited about it. Kids… try to contain yourself from licking your screen. Okay, has someone actually ever had to do that?! Literally contain themselves from LICKING a COMPUTER screen?! I highly doubt that. BUT these are super good, so try not to drool all over the place. Here we are combining the deliciousness that is my mango salsa and spicy oven-baked tilapia and throwing them both

Spicy Oven-Baked Tilapia

Going on four years ago now, Mr. T told me that he would take me to the infamous all-you-can-eat seafood buffet in his hometown in Mesquite, Nevada. Then… tragically, about 3 months before we tied the knot he developed an allergy to seafood. He’s sad about it, I’m sad about it, and the last place we want to be is at a seafood buffet. So basically what I’m saying is that somebody else needs to come stuff face with me at this buffet. ‘Cause unless we acquire an EpiPen, Mr. T ai

Momma Steed’s Shrimp Linguini

This linguini will blow your mind. But if you aren’t a big fan of shrimp don’t leave just yet! I had a great friend in high school who LOVED this stuff…. and hates shrimp. In our high school yearbook, all the senior athletes were interviewed and one of the questions asked was, “What is your favorite food?” to which her response was, “Momma Steed’s Shrimp Linguini without the shrimp.” True story. Momma Steed's Shrimp Linguini 2016-01-24 14:48:27 Even if you don't like shrimp,

Grilled Fish Steaks

This is one of my most favorite dishes. I can’t even put into words how incredibly tasty this fish is. Seriously … all I could say after I put it in my mouth was “Oh… uuuhhmmm… ooooohh mah goooonnneeessshhhh. Dis is shhoo goooood!” If you are a dental hygienist/dentist, you may have understood me. Which brings me to a pet peeve of mine: Why the heck do dentists insist on asking you questions while hands and instruments are shoved into your mouth so far they’re tickling your
