If I’m being completely honest, I’ve never been a huge fan of M&M’s.
Then I wrapped them in sugar and butter and now I can’t get enough of them.
These cookies are big and soft and the hard shell surrounding the chocolate candies gives the most satisfyingly delicate crunch.
These bad boys are the real deal.
Putting candy in cookies will change your life.
I’m stoked for Halloween because it’s like an invitation to put all the candy in all the things.
And now I have a kid, so I have an excuse to walk up to people’s houses, knock on their doors and demand candy.
America is awesome.

Anyway, I actually have no idea how I was allowed to marry into the Thurston family due to my dislike of M&M candies.
The Thurston’s are basically sponsored by M&M’s. The like to put them in their popcorn.
Sometimes Mr. T eats that for dinner when I’m too tired to cook. Makes me feel like an awesome wife.
Thinking back on it, I think I kept it a secret that I didn’t like them until Mr. T and I sealed the deal. Then I broke the news to my new family.
They are still reeling from my dark confession.
The BEST M&M cookies in the history of ever. They are big, soft and filled with melty chocolate candies!

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
3 tablespoons instant vanilla pudding mix powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
3/4 cup mini chocolate chips
1 to 1 1/2 cups mini M&M’s
In the bowl of an electric mixer with your cookie paddles attached, mix together the butter and sugars until well mixed on medium/high speed.
Add the egg and vanilla and continue to whip until light and fluffy. This should take anywhere from 3-5 minutes.
Add all of your dry ingredients (flour, instant vanilla pudding mix powder, baking soda and salt) and mix together just until incorporated. Add mini chocolate chips and mini M&M's and mix together just until incorporated.
Using a 1/4 cup measure, scoop out the dough and roll into balls with your hands. Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or a silpat baking mat about 2 inches apart from one another. Wrap with plastic wrap and place in the fridge to chill for at least 2 hours.
When done chilling, preheat oven to 350° F and bake for 11-12 minutes. Once done, pull out of the oven and allow to cool on the baking sheet.
