I always thought that I loved waffles… and then I met liege waffles.
That’s the day I realized I had never really known what love was.
These waffles probably qualify as my favorite food. If they aren’t my favorite, they are pretty high up there.
I remember the first time I discovered the magic of liege waffles.
Famous Julie, my dad and I were walking around a farmer’s market, and Famous Julie spotted a vendor selling waffles. Knowing of my deep love for waffles, she turned to me and asked if I wanted one.
Now here is where the story gets crazy.
I told her NO.
NO?! NO?!?!
I don’t even know what I was doing with my life. Luckily though, she decided that she wanted to try them and picked one up. She took one bite and told me I HAD TO try it. So then I took a bite, and promptly finished her entire waffle for her.
Did you notice I said that I finished it for her? Like I did her some huge favor or something?
You’re welcome Momma.
