This recipe.
This is a Famous Julie original.
Every year for our birthdays my sweet momma gives us the option of choosing what we eat for dinner that night. You know your momma can cook when you are excited to eat at home on your birthday, instead of going to a restaurant.
Pretty sure after she whipped these puppies out several years ago every single person in my family requested them for their birthday for years and years.
In fact, hey mom? Can you make these for my birthday this year? Thanks.

These ribs will ruin you for every other rib in existence, and they aren't as difficult as you might think.

For the Ribs
Three full slabs of baby-back ribs
Pepper
Salt
Cayenne
For the Sauce
2 ¼ tablespoons oil
½ cup chopped onion
1 ½ cups water
2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon molasses
1 can tomato paste
¼ teaspoon pepper
½ tablespoon cayenne pepper
½ cup vinegar
1 ½ teaspoons liquid smoke
½ cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 ½ tablespoons honey
¼ teaspoon paprika
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoons onion powder
For the Ribs
Cut racks into fourths. Sprinkle with spices. Wrap in foil sprayed with non-stick spray, place on cookie sheet and bake for 2 ½ hours at 300° on convection setting. (If you don't have the option to cook on convection setting, fear not. Bake them at 300° for a little over 3 hours)
For the Sauce
Heat oil in a medium saucepan and cook onion for about five minutes.
Add the rest of the ingredients and stir to combine. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 1 ½ hours or until reduced and thickened.
Remove ribs from oven. Let stand for 10 minutes. Remove from foil. Brush sauce on ribs. Grill ribs for about 3 minutes on each side to candy the sauce.

These may be somewhat time consuming but they are fairly simple for the most part. It’s just adding a few ingredients together and leaving it to simmer/bake for a while, so really your oven and stovetop are doing most of the work.
If people ask though you can tell them you’ve been slaving away in the kitchen all day. That means they have to appreciate the meal more.
It’s basically a rule.
